Body Found at Blairgowrie - 04-07-2008

Tayside Police officers are carrying out enquiries after the body of a man - believed to be in his mid 30s - was discovered in a wooded area in Blairgowrie, Perthshire.

The man's body was found by a member of the public, lying in woods next to Gas Brae, near its junction with Coupar Angus Road at about 7pm yesterday (Thursday, July 3, 2008).

Officers have cordoned off the area and scenes of crime officers are continuing with detailed examinations today as part of the investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the man's death.

He has not been formally identified at this time although he is believed to be local to the area.

As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
