Groups working with children and young people are being offered a helping hand at free roadshows across the county. Derbyshire County Council is hosting seven workshops under the banner "Moving Forward Together" later this month and in October.
The events are aimed at voluntary, community and independent groups working with children and young people. Roadshows will support the groups with information about how to apply for funding, and details of how they can improve their work through links with other organisations and partner agencies. The events will also take groups through the processes used by professionals working with children, including the Common Assessment Framework which helps organisations make sure children and their families are getting the support they need. Roadshows will take place at:
Glapwell Community Centre, Glapwell, 23 September, 12-4pm.
Genesis Centre, Alfreton, 24 September, 12-4pm.
St Annes Community Centre, Buxton, 29 September, 12-4pm.
Alice's View Children's Centre, North Wingfield, 1 October, 12-4pm.
Outlook Centre, Long Eaton, 3 October, 12-4pm.
Chesterfield Library, Chesterfield, 6 October, 12-4pm.
Woodville Youth Centre, Woodville, 8 October, 12-4pm.
Councillor Anne Western, Derbyshire County Council's cabinet member for children's services, said:
We host these roadshows to support the voluntary, community and independent sector. Their valuable contribution to our communities helps us improve life for local people and give children in the county the start in life they deserve. Providing these roadshows is just one way we show our thanks and support them in the work they do.
