I went to see two animated feature films and here is my opinion of them. I was quite surprised by the outcome and thought that the Star Wars film would have swiped aside the competition but the underdog, Space Chimps, won the day. Star Wars : The Clone Wars This story is slotted in between Star Wars Chapter 2 and 3 and is a complete let down for more than 1 reason. Firstly and obviously it is basically a cartoon, therefore it is difficult to get involved with the characters or the action in the way you would with a live action film. Secondly nearly all the battle scenes are involving characters that you know are in future films and therefore you know that no harm can come to them. This makes many of the battle scenes quite pointless and you really didn't care if any of the other characters lived or died. The force is definately not in a cartoon Star Wars and the makers should keep these type of films to television or DVD only. Space Chimps
This film is in total contrast to the Star Wars film to the fact that this film is aimed at the right audience. The kids will love this and Mum and Dad can enjoy it too. 3 Chimps, one of which is a reluctant grandson of a famous monkey astronaut, are sent on a Space Test Mission to another planet and inadvertently interact with the it's inhabitants. Space Chimps has a well written script and loveable characters and is a lght hearted film worth a punt. |
