Healthy eater Eden Godfrey showed the recipe for success in an online competition to promote school meals in Derbyshire.
Six-year-old Eden, a pupil at Hartshorne Primary School near Swadlincote, won first prize in a healthy eating competition on Derbyshire County Council's My School Lunch website. Councillor Alan Charles, the county council's cabinet member for schools, presented Eden with her prize, a £50 voucher for Argos. Councillor Charles said: "It was great to meet Eden and her school friends and to see the work they are doing on the importance of healthy eating. "The My School Lunch website is a brilliant source of information for parents who want to know more about the tasty and healthy school lunches in Derbyshire schools. "Giving children the right food in schools is very important to make sure they are happy and healthy and can fulfil their potential." The My School Lunch website promotes the county council's healthy school lunches and shows the hard work of its catering services. It provides information for adults, teachers and children about healthy eating and advice on how to keep an active lifestyle which links to the National Curriculum. And the site also contains a range of educational games in a funfair with different skill levels so that children can learn while they play.
