Free Japanese Music Concert - Fri 25th July

Music lovers of all ages are invited to attend a free concert of traditional Japanese music at County Hall in Matlock.
The lunchtime concert will feature Shamisen music by the Watanabe family from Toyota City in Japan.
The performance forms part of the ten year twinning celebrations between Toyota City and Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council and South Derbyshire District Council.
Musician Yuhi Watanabe has been visiting schools around the county to demonstrate her skill with the Shamisen, a traditional three stringed instrument.
She will be joined by her parents for the performance in Matlock.
Chair of Derbyshire County Council Councillor Joyce Sanders said:

"Twinning offers a wide range of benefits for Derbyshire and its residents.
"We have the opportunity to exchange ideas and information and learn from one another whatever our age or circumstances."

The concert takes place in the member's room at County Hall on Bank Road, Matlock at 12.30pm Friday July 25.
