Hidden Corners of Chester Green, another event in the Council's series of walks and activities, takes place on Sunday (29 June).
This event also forms part of Derby City Partnership Week, which runs from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 June.
Members of the public are invited to join the Little Chester Heritage Centre and History Group on a 1½ mile, 2.4 kilometre guided walk around the hidden corners of Chester Green. This new route will cover lesser-known parts of the area. During the walk, features, buildings and industries dating from recent times back to the Roman era will be revealed.
Anyone interested in joining the walk should meet at the Heritage Centre in St Paul's Church, Mansfield Road at 2.15pm. The walk will last about 1¼ hours. Refreshments will be available in the Heritage Centre at the end of the walk. The walk is on flat surfaced paths. Dogs on leads welcome.
Nearby bus routes are numbers 9.1, 9.2, 71, 92, AMB and H1 - people should call traveline on 0871 2002233 for details of bus services.
All the walks and activities in the series are suitable for all the family, and are a fun way for people to see more of the city's wildlife and history and at the same time improve their health. They are all free of charge.
Leaflets about the walks and activities are available in local libraries, Council offices, the Tourist Information Centre and doctor's surgeries, or visit our wild Derby webpage. |
