As a result of a more high profile exposure in films such as the “Bourne Identity trilogy”,
the interest in the F.M.A. has increased substantially and more and more people are getting involved intrigued by the deadly effectiveness and beauty of this art.
The secret behind the strength of this arts is always been its secrecy.
Filipinos have always been training in secret on their backyard garden because the Spanish colonized the Philippines for over 3 centuries and outlawed the practice of the native martial arts banning the locals from carrying any sort of weapon for fear of insurrection.
Only in the 1970’s the different clans and families decided to forge a national system and began to teach their arts to westerners in America.
Unfortunately because of mass marketing what is taught is often a diluted version of the original art.
The original name of the art was KALIRADMAN and comes from the Malay which were the first inhabitants of the Philippines, other names are Escrima or Arnis: this were Spanish names used to describe the local martial arts.
In America is called Kali.
The system we teach in our exclusive studio is called Angkán Felices Kaliradman which means the Kaliradman of the Felices Family.
Antonio Faedda is the only instructor in the UK authorized by his mentor Julio Felices to teach this unique system.
“It is a system which can look back on centuries of tradition. Before the arrival of the Spaniards - before the inhabitants of the Philippines became "Filipinos" - Kaliradman was used for intertribal warfare. Later it was used against both the Spanish invaders who were battled with sticks, swords and knives, and against the American colonials”.

It’s hard to describe in only a few lines the immense benefit of this sort of training in terms of Physical gain and self defence.
This possibly one of the most dynamic martial arts systems out there, and is unspoiled and untouched , away from the” Americanization” of the Filipino Martial Arts and all the “Combat fitness” trends out there.
