Most customers experience a collection of minor problems such as a broken sash cord, or a paint stuck sash. So what we offer is this:

The Service, to include, To put down dust sheets and remove any furnishings local to the "window" area. Then to carefully dismantle the window and working from the inside remove the two window sashes.
We will remove the excess build up of paint and heavily wood treat all accessible bare wood and frame (box sections) areas against existing woodworm and wet or dry rot attack.
Then we will check the sash and may if required tighten the (haunch and mortise) corner joints. We will also check and replace any loose putty. Furthermore we will change all the sash cord to our nylon reinforced red spot sash cord (the highest quality available ) Vacuum out all the "normally damp" dirt and debris that has accumulated in the lower "boxes" this being a prime cause of wet rot from the inside outwards, then wood treat the same. We will candle wax all running surfaces, seal any hairline cracks around the window sill area, and then re-fit the sashes adjusting the sash weights so as to get a more correct balance. We will also adjust the lower sash so as to take up excess movement so as to reduce drafts and rattles.
The whole job will then be sealed and left so that in nine out of ten windows few customers would never have known that we had disturbed the decorating or paintwork or been in the room.

Our normal charge for this is £120 for a smaller domestic and local window.
This is subject to number of windows, locality, general condition and window size and access


Re-glaze prices can start at £40. (if we are on-site anyway) for a tiny window and £80 if full sash sized, if re-glazed as an addition to a window service on the same window.

Window sills,
All our window sills are replaced in solid English Oak, Sills run the full length of the window base and to replace this item we also remove the "poorer" section of the lower frame ( known as the box) and replace that also. We need to do this frame replacement to allow us to re-locate the new sill in position as a full length sill. Prices for sill replacement start at £250.

Draft proofing
We are happy to fit "Brush Pile" draft proofing, in our view it is the only one worth fitting. It is normally unseen, and extremely long lasting and by far the most effective draft proofing available.
This will be in addition to a service and will only cost an extra £70.
