Appeal following robbery in Worthing - 13-10-2008
|
Police in Worthing are appealing for information following a street robbery on Friday night (October 10th). The incident took place at about 11.50pm as the victim, a man in his mid 20s, was walking alone along Victoria Road towards Worthing train station. As he got towards the end of Victoria Road he noticed a man walking towards him on the same side of the road. The man walked straight up to the victim and asked him for his wallet. When the victim said no the other man produced a large kitchen type knife and re-asserted his request. The victim then produced his wallet and handed over an amount of cash in excess of £100. The offender then left, walking south along Victoria Road.
The victim was not injured, but was understandably left extremely distressed by his ordeal. The offender is described as white, 35 to 40 years old, 5'8" to 5'9" tall, slim and muscular build with short dark cropped hair gelled into a ‘French crop' and some stubble on his face. He spoke with a southern accent and was wearing a dark jacket and dark trousers.
Anyone with information is asked to call 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 2280 of October 10th. Information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. News Source: Sussex Police |
