Serious assault in Worthing - 10-10-2008

At 7.25pm on Tuesday 7th October police were called to Church Walk in Worthing following a report of a serious assault.

The victim, a 34 year old man, suffered a broken jaw as a result of being punched by two unknown offenders who he had disturbed taking his pedal cycle from outside of his address.

The victim is currently undergoing surgery as a result of the attack at St Richar's Hospital in Chichester.

The first offender is described as male, white, aged 21-23 years, of slim build, about 1.85m tall, with short fair hair, blue eyes and wearing a dark top. The second was a chinese male with short dark black hair, 16-17 years, of slim build, wearing a white t-shirt, a black baseball cap and black tracksuit trousers.

This attack appears to be totally unprovoked. Anyone with information about who is responsible for this assault or who witnessed it is urged to contact Worthing CID on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Serial 1393 of October 7th.
