Body found in Chichester canal - appeal for witnesses - 05-09-2008

Police are treating the death of a man found in Chichester canal on Wednesday (3 September) as unexplained. He is believed to be a Polish man aged 44, though his identity cannot yet be formally confirmed. He is described as being 5ft 8, of large build, with a moustache and light brown receding hairstyle. He was wearing a white T shirt with beige waistcoat, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Inspector Mark Gowling of Chichester CID said:

"We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man of this description between Friday 29 August and Wednesday 3 September so that we can piece together the man's movements prior to his death."
