Appeal for witnesses to mobility scooter fall - 24-07-2008

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a fall from an electric mobility scooter in Broad Oak last Wednesday (July 16th).

Mr Richard Fanthorpe, 77 years, from Broadoak, was taken to the Conquest Hospital with a head injury following the fall, which happened at about 4.45pm at Paine's Corner. Sadly, he died in hospital the following day.

Police were not called to the incident, but are investigating how Mr Fanthorpe came to fall off his machine. Anyone with any information is asked to call 0845 60 70 999.
