A £10,000 reward is being offered to find the man who is responsible for a series of attacks on women in Hastings
The reward is being offered by Sussex Police and Sussex Crimestoppers, with them each offering £5,000 for the arrest and conviction of the man.
Major Crime Branch detectives, who are leading the investigation in to a series of attacks on women in Hastings, are now examining a further six offences to the series of ten attacks earlier publicised. Although not formally linked, the offences bear striking similarities.
Police are examining 16 offences and exploring a further five. These additional offences have all taken place in Hastings and stretch back to August 2006. The most recent attack was on 21st May 2008.
DC I Trevor Bowles said: "I feel sure that someone in Hastings, a family member or friend of this man has information which will lead police to arrest and charge him for these violent offences. Someone in the town knows who he is. It is clear that this attacker knows the town well. I believe he may live, have family or friends here, or work in the town.
"The willingness of this man to use unprovoked violence against women is a great concern and we urgently need to find the man responsible. We know he is white, in his 20s or 30s, and has dark hair that is longer on the top than the sides. He sometimes wears a hoodie.
"Attacks of this nature are unusual, and it is for this reason that this pattern of offending stands out. We must find this man and I need the help of the public in giving me the information as to who and where he is."
