Programme start and end times are as follows:
Friday 9:20am- 4:55pm Saturday 9:20 am-4:55pm Sunday 9.20am- 4.00pm
The theme changes each year and this year it is "Guided by God's Spirit". The programme focuses attention on our need for reliable guidance. Life has become very complex and challenging and many feel the need for some kind of spiritual input in their lives.Jehovah's Witnesses feel that God is the ultimate source of guidance and good advice. Whilst on earth Jesus promised that God would provide guidance through his Holy Spirit. The Convention will discuss what God's Spirit is and will examine the beneficial impact of the Bible in millions of people's lives. The programme covers three days in which around 50 short talks, re-enactments , interviews and a full costume Bible Drama will be presented.
Friday afternoon will be especially helpful to young people as a large portion of the programme will be giving attention to the challenges they face. In recent months many negative news stories about young people have been presented. This part of the programme will show how God's direction can help youths avoid many of the moral pitfalls they encounter. Some young ones will be interviewed and will talk about the value and importance of their faith.
Saturdays programme will show how individuals young or old can be empowered by Holy Spirit to resist temptation, cope with discouragement and adversity. There will also be a series of talks that give compelling reasons to trust that the Bible is more than a work of men or of fiction but is what it claims to be, the word of God. Saturday will also see local residents who have studied the Bible symbolising their dedication to God during a baptism ceremony. Sunday features a talk especially for the public and will see a full costume Bible drama set at the time of the birth of Christianity.
