Family Fun Run in Hollingdean

Joggers and walkers are wanted to take part in a five-kilometre on July 6.

The event, starting at Hollingdean Park, Brentwood Road, at 11am is open to all ages and aims to get people taking exercise and enjoying nearby downland.  Funds raised will buy sports equipment for local schools.

Local volunteers are also needed as marshals and stewards.The council's Active For Life team are supporting the Hollingdean Running Sisters who are organising the event as part of the TakePART International Festival of Sport and Hollingdean Festival.

Cabinet member for recreation Councillor David Smith said:  "It's never too late to improve your fitness so I'd urge people to have a go."
