Joanna MacGregor is one of contemporary music's great individualists. This concert juxtaposes the geniuses of Bach and Shostakovich with dance rhythms from Brazil and New York. A selection of preludes and fugues by Bach and Shostakovich are followed in the second half by music from some of Brazil's best known composers, ending with selections from The Gershwin Songbook.
