Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and a man to come forward after receiving a report of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in a car park in the town - with one man being charged. It is alleged that between 1.30pm and 3pm on Saturday 23 August 2008 a woman was sexually assaulted by a man on a ramp leading to an underground car park at the rear of Holland House in Oxford Road, Bournemouth. Detective Constable Hatef Nezami, of Bournemouth CID, said: "The car ramp in question is close to where pedestrians walk through the car park to and from Bournemouth town centre and it is on a well-used route to Asda. "It's important that I hear from anyone who walked past the ramp last Saturday afternoon, and who's attention was drawn to any incident involving a man and a woman on, or near the ramp. "I'm particularly keen to speak with a man of mixed race who has blonde hair and I believe to be in his twenties. I understand that he was wearing knee length white shorts and a T shirt of some sort. He was carrying a bag over one shoulder and he may have spoken to a man and a woman in the car park. It's very important that this man contacts me. "I expect that a lot of people used the route on Saturday afternoon and I'd urge anyone who saw anything of this nature to contact the police urgently as all such witnesses could be vital to my investigation." A 44 year old Bournemouth man has been charged with a serious sexual offence and he awaits an appearance at Bournemouth Crown Court. The alleged victim is a 27 year old Bournemouth woman. Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 or 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
