Borough residents and employees called to show their star potential - 18-07-2008
|
Residents and people who work in the borough are being called on this month to show their star potential as the Faces of Basingstoke competition is launched.
The competition, which is part of a wider programme to promote the area, is being run by Destination Basingstoke to get people involved with showcasing how great the borough really is.
The aim of the competition is to find men, women and families willing to be models in a range of photographs used to promote the borough in publications and on the new Destination Basingstoke website, due to be launched at the end of the year.
The competition starts on Thursday 17 July and the deadline for entries is Monday 11 August.
Managing Director for Destination Basingstoke Felicity Edwards said: "This is a great opportunity for the community to get involved with promoting the borough.
"We want people from all sectors of the community to be involved in showcasing how alive, vibrant and thriving this borough really is.
"Rather than using professional models from agencies that may have no real connection with the town, we thought the best faces to feature in future marketing material about what a great place Basingstoke is to live, work and do business would be those of people that already do live work or do business here!"
The people chosen will receive £100 of vouchers to use in Festival Place and be entered into a free prize draw to receive an hour's personal photo session with a professional photographer.
If you think you've got what it takes, log onto the destination Basingstoke website at www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk to find out more!
Anyone entering the competition needs to provide two photographs as well as an application form and email it to faces@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk or send to Faces competition, Corporate Communications, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, FREEPOST BZ 740, Basingstoke RG21 4GA.
Application forms can be found on the Destination Basingstoke website, Festival Place information desk or by popping into the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offices in London Road. |
