Police appeal for witnesses after assault in Basingstoke - 15-07-2008

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday, July 12.

Sometime between 12am and 12.30am a 41-year-old man was assaulted in the Norn Hill area of Basingstoke.

He was hit on the arm with a pole and suffered a broken arm. He was treated at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

PC Sarah Clement, of Basingstoke police station, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who has any information about this assault.

"Although it happened late at night it did occur in a residential area and residents may have been awoken by the disturbance and seen something."
