Police appeal for witnesses after assault in Basingstoke - 17-05-2008

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted in the Basingstoke War Memorial Park on Saturday, May 10.
Sometime between 9.30pm and 10.30pm the 16-year-old victim was chatting with a group of young men in the park.
However a dispute occurred and he was then assaulted by members of the group, suffering a broken cheek bone.
He was treated at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
One of the men is described as: - White
- Aged between 17 and 19
- 5ft 10ins
- Skinny build
- Short blonde hair
- Wearing a light and dark striped polo shirt
PC Jonathan Ramchurn, of Basingstoke police station, said: "This was an unprovoked attack and one we are taking seriously.
"There were a number of young people in the park at the time of the incident and we would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible." www.hampshire.police.uk |
