Police in Basingstoke appeal for witnesses after robbery near Eastrop Park - 08-05-2008

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery between Old Basing and Eastrop Park on Monday, April 28.
At around 5.30pm a 15-year-old boy was cycling along the footpath from Eastrop Park towards Old Basing when he was approached by five men who demanded that he hand over his bike.
The boy said no and was then knocked off his bike by one of the men, who then punched and kicked him while he was on the floor.
The teenager then managed to get up, get onto his bike and cycle off.
One of the men is described as: - White
- Aged 20 to 25
- 6ft tall
- Skinny build
- Stubble length brown hair
- Wearing black gloves, dark grey tracksuit bottoms and a black pullover hooded top.
All of the men were wearing dark hooded tops and had scarves wrapped around their faces.
PC Mark Gallagher, of Basingstoke police station, said: "The victim of this incident has been left very shaken up and we are keen to trace the people responsible.
"We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of this incident to contact police as soon as possible." www.hampshire.police.uk |
