LEG THREAD VEIN TREATMENT

Sclerotherapy is used for blue, purple leg thread veins. An established and highly successful treatment which is extremely effective using a well respected medical technique that has been used in the treatment of thread veins since 1930 and long before that for larger veins.

A solution is injected into the offending vessel, which then irritates the vein. The walls of the vein stick together, emptying the blood, and the veins gradually disappear. Sclerotherapy is a treatment which is carried out by a trained clinician, using a fine needle which passes small amounts of solution into the veins. This shuts down the vein and after about 2-8 weeks most veins will disappear.

At the initial FREE consultation costs, amounts of the treatment required, expectations and contra-indications are discussed so that patients are fully aware of treatment procedures etc. Depending on how severe the offending vessels are will indicate how many treatments are needed. There is little or no discomfort, some clients notice a slight tingling sensation, but this disappears after a few minutes.

Laser treatment vs Sclerotherapy - At Abate Beauty & Spa Sanctuary we prefer sclerotherapy for the removal of leg thread veins. It has been our experience over the years to re-treat many patients whose treatment by laser has not met their expectations.

Sclerotherapy is a permanent solution, but if patients do have a pre-disposition to breaking out with unsightly veins then it must be taken into account that patients may need further treatment to attempt to shut down others that may attempt to form. There are no complications, although some brown spotting may appear (although this is rare) at the site of injecting the solution, but this disappears over time.
