CityLocal started from humble beginnings in April 2006 and by mid 2007, the franchise was launched. Since then, countless numbers of franchisees have decided to join one of the best new business opportunities in the UK and Ireland. By mid 2009 and within just a couple of years of launching, the network had grown to over 40 franchisees.
CityLocal is run by local people who care about local issues and want to encourage local trade. Our franchise owners are specialist "Local Business Promoters". They work closely with outstanding businesses, lift their profile within the community and put them in touch with their customers, the local public.
In the beginning, CityLocal was just an online community platform and business directory. However, we have evolved and are now much more than just a website. We don't rely on any one form of marketing and we place as much importance on our "offline business promotion" as we do with our "online business promotion" with the best Internet Search Engines. We understand that businesses can benefit from a variety of methods to best promote themselves locally.
Typically, the characteristics that our franchise owners have are as follows:
- They are hard working, ambitious and want to create a better work life balance for themselves.
- They enjoy meeting new people, are sociable and find it easy to develop new relationships.
- They are self motivated and are prepared to take responsibility for their own results.
- They are prepared to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week to this business.
