Healthy Eating

Mealtimes

Mealtimes are a happy, social time and we encourage children's choice, which supports independence and learning throughout mealtimes. We regularly introduce new foods, textures and tastes, and ensure that our staff encourage healthy eating habits and lead by example.

All our food is prepared on site daily by a qualified cook, who has a unique understanding of the dietary needs of the under 5's. We use seasonal foods to encourage diversity of taste and minimise the use of salt, sugar and additives. We regularly change our well-balanced healthy meals to incorporate seasonal variations.

All children have access to drinking water during the day.

Our menus are displayed in reception and we record the amount and quantity of food your child has eaten each day. Our menu is culturally-diverse, and we can accommodate individual dietary requirements. Our cook is always happy to discuss parent and child's needs before your child starts with us.

We took over The Stables in January 2008 which was being run as a day nursery by its previous owner.

A unique countryside setting offering children a tranquil environment we were keen to acquire The Stables as we are confident that the extensive internal and external refurbishment works we have planned will bring the nursery up to the standard we expect. This will enable us to provide the very highest level of care, learning and play opportunities to your children.

We look forward to opening The Stables as Hopscotch's second day nursery in the Hampshire area.
