Bembridge House is within easy walking distance of the Ashcroft Arts Centre, Leisure Centre, Museum, Ferneham Hall and shopping precinct. There are also Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Spanish and British restaurants within the Fareham area.


HMS Collingwood & Cams Hall are also in close proximity.

Each room at Bembridge House has it's own unique character, Major Gordon's Room, (he was the first owner of the house in1850), The Governess' Room, The Butler's Room and The Cook's Room. There is also a Garden Flat with flexibility of sleeping arrangements that can be made available with the prices to match the number of people accommodated. The Cook's Room or The Governess' Room (Shower Rooms en-suite)

The earliest occupant of this room could have been called Mrs. Spratt and she would have been employed as a 'Plain Cook'.  Her day would have started at 6.00am and she would have been expected to sweep and dust the Dining Room, clean the grate, light the fire and sweep and clean the Front Hall and the front door-step in addition to carrying out her work in the kitchen.  Plain cooks were only expected to produce simple dishes - with dinners generally consisting of fish, a joint and vegetables and a pudding or tart and luncheons of either a joint with vegetables and plain pudding or cold meat, salad and potatoes.  After the evening dinner had been served at 6.30 or 7.00pm the plain cook would carrry on the scullery-maid's work of cleaning dishes and scrubbing kitchen tables.  The ensuite has a short Victorian bath with a shower over.

Tariff includes a Hearty but Healthy Full English Breakfast; special diets can be catered for upon request, e.g. Vegetarian, Vegan, Coeliac.

Cancellation Policy:

We would like the fee for the first night's accommodation as deposit. In the event of cancellation, with 48 hours notice or more there is no charge made. With less than 48 hours notice we will try to re-let the accommodation but there will be a charge of 50% of the first night's accommodation if it remains unlet.
