Break through sessions:

The break through sessions are an exciting innovation for everyone that gets involved. Imagine knowing that you cannot fail, nothing was stopping you? What would you do? What would you want? What would you have? Where would you be?

Having thought about that, ask yourself these questions? Why haven't you got all of those things now? What's stopping you achieving those things now?

The answer is probably at some level because of the programming (beliefs) that others have given you and it may be the programming that you, and almost everyone does to themselves every day without even thinking about it.
When people think about what they can and cannot achieve in their personal and professional lives, then their only reference point is their past. Human nature being what it is, most people have a habit of remembering many of the negative things that have occurred or that have been said to them. This then forms their frame of reference -so many people live their lives imprisoned by the barriers of their past failures.

What would happen if just for one moment you could step out of these barriers and all the forces that could aide you were on your side, you were indestructible, you could conquer anything. Now wouldn't that change the things you believe you could and will achieve? Well for the vast majority it does and the breakthrough session is just that, it opens up the doorway of your potential. Once opened most people given the right circumstances have a desire or compulsion to kick down that door and step into a new brighter more positive, more confident, less stressful, fun future.

The day is exciting and on the surface may seem unstructured. Many emotions are experienced, old unwanted beliefs destroyed and new powerful ones built. All this is carried out in a fun filled and exciting environment on a one to one basis. It is a day of transformation, the person entering our office is a shadow of the powerful person leaving.

Many people at a senior level spend their time solving other peoples' problems. Who deals with theirs? The breakthrough sessions are an opportunity to talk and find out about yourself, your values and really begin to find out your true potential. When is the last time that you or any of your team spent a whole day on yourselves, talking about yourself and taking action to ensure that that you have all the attributes and skills that are required in a faster paced more competitive world?

There is no need for time wasting by sitting through highly structured training when much of the information may be viewed as irrelevant or of little interest. The saving made in time alone for key executives is tremendous. However, when you couple them to the results that follow they become even more attractive.


What is modelling?

If someone can do something then anyone can do it.

NLP emerged in the 1970's as a result of number of modeling projects conducted by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. In order to accurately define what their subjects were doing Bandler, Grinder and others developed a new approach to modeling which encompassed internal processes as well as external behaviour.

In other words, NLP has found ways of making conscious the out-of-awareness behaviours, mental habits and beliefs of top performers, as well as defining a code for describing these processes. The result is called 'a model' and once specified, it can be learned by others as part of their quest to improve performance.

The general principles and methods of modeling are independent of the skill-set being modeled or the environment in which the modeling takes place. Thus the approach can be applied to almost any circumstance and is being used extensively in business, education, health, sports, personal development and other application areas.

In the twenty years following Bandler and Grinder's original formulation, the list of skills modeled in major organisations has expanded at an increasing rate and the NLP model of modeling has been refined and extended many times. Modeling projects undertaken range from very specific behaviours to highly general competencies and include:

Sales professionals, Safe Driving, Project Management, Futures Trading, Strategic Thinking, Creativity, Systemic Thinking, and Leadership Skills, are a few amongst a whole range of different other skills.

Unconscious Competence

So, what is modeling excellence based on?

Each of us has a particular set of strategies which enables us to function effectively in an organisation. These repetitive sequences of internal and external behaviour include strategies for delegating, learning and teaching, motivation, creativity, decision making and a thousand other functions. Yet these skills are most often acquired by unconscious trial and error, and, because they are not obtained explicitly we have little idea of how to transfer them to others.

What is more, people may succeed magnificently using one particular strategy for a certain function (defining company policy, for example) whilst seriously underachieving when they attempt to apply the same strategy elsewhere (explaining those polices).

When you ask people who are really excellent, 'How do you do it?' the most common response is, 'I don't really know' or 'I just ... sort of ... do it and everything happens naturally.' This is typical of 'unconscious competence'. By the end of the modeling project the person being modeled invariably says 'Well, I never realised that's what I do' and often they will add 'I thought everyone did it that way!'

Even a little modeling will show that people often use widely different internal processing strategies, and this accounts for the gap between mediocre and top performers. Most strategies, once they are made explicit, can be easily learned or modified to accomplish organisational or personal goals.

So modeling is the study of excellence, finding out why someone is excellent at a particular skill. A highly effective process of finding why and how excellence is generated. Modeling is one of the most efficient methods of improving and transferring excellence. One of the interesting things to note is that whilst there may be generalities, each industry, company, and team will have unique reasons why and how excellence is achieved.

Many people confuse modeling with time and motion studies; the two could not be further apart. Time and motion concentrate's purely on the actions. Modeling elicits the detailed thinking processes that cause the actions to happen, the 'why's' and the 'how's' if you will. The two are clearly separated in terms of the quality of the information and the results they achieve. One seeks to save time and reduce costs, the other deals with excellence, replicating, and multiplying success.

Modeling concentrates on the core thinking processes.

A core principle is 'if someone can do something well then anybody can do it' in order that this becomes a reality, first we must understand how someone is excellent.

By clearly understanding how a person thinks and acts in order to achieve excellence, two clear advantages are derived.

Once someone knows and understands how they are excellent they can then do more of it, and therefore become more successful.
The same successful process can be shared with others in the team to raise production/productivity and profitability, whilst at the same time reducing stress, or attempting to reinvent the wheel all over again.

Modeling the best behaviours of the people in your organisations and then spreading that knowledge across others in similar roles can result in dramatic, consistent results quickly.

Using the advanced technology of NLP, (Neuro Linguistic Programming), we then embed this into the unconscious, so that change becomes natural and easy.

The next stage is equally powerful if not more so. Having now obtained the template of success, we then share it with the rest of the team so they to know how to create success and reduce stress. Importantly this core and important information is also available to any new members to the team.

This differs dramatically from traditional training - traditional training takes a generic set of skills and then attempts to put people into a mould.

Modeling works with both the conscious and unconscious mind so that behaviour is changed. Traditional training is highly focused on the conscious mind. Because modeling works with both parts of the mind people listen, understand and are compelled to change to a more successful way of operating.


Introduction to powerful sales using NLP

The important thing to note is that professional and successful sales people are not born, they are developed. The pushy 'gift of the gab' salesperson is now becoming a thing of the past, and one that is rejected or avoided by clients and customers. So this is for the new breed of professional sales person, who wants to sell in a way that makes people buy their products or services effortlessly and with enthusiasm, so that they continue to buy more - again and again - and recommend you again and again.

Values, positioning & selling
When you apply NLP in selling you will dramatically increase your client/customer satisfaction rating and your repeat business. The approach enables you to ensure that you match your products or services to your clients precise needs even though they may not be obvious to you or in fact the client...

...and ensure that your client is aware of how carefully you are attending to their needs!

By doing this, you are positioning yourself differently in the mind of your client/customer. You are no longer just another 'rep' or even a salesperson. In their mind you become 'someone-to-be-consulted' and a 'valuable resource' rather than a 'nuisance-to-be-tolerated'.

Pie in the sky? Unrealistic? Not so...

Clients/customers respect salespeople who respect them...

...and the converse applies, too.

Who do you prefer to buy from? The pushy salesperson who talks at you, or the person who takes the time to discover your needs and then helps you find the best match for these? Not a difficult choice, is it?

It takes a little longer to sell this way and requires a little more care, greater respect for your client, and quite a bit more skill - but the best thing is that when you use our methods they become effortless and seamless for you and the client.

Yet it is not difficult to apply. NLP selling methods work equally well for retail sales as for international salespeople selling high-ticket products and services, because clients/customers don't like to be sold - they like to buy.

And the key difference is in how you treat them...

First they must buy you!

Experienced sales people know that clients/customers are unlikely to buy your product or service or idea if they don't like you. (Unless, of course, you are fortunate in being in a sellers' market, even then how much you can command is relative to some level how much they like you.)

First your client/customer must 'buy' you - only then will they consider 'buying' your product or service or idea. NLP in selling is so powerful that even when you are at a price or a technical specification disadvantage, you can often get the order if your relationship with your client/customer is right!

'Relationship Selling'

When we 'model' or extract the key ingredients of successful selling strategies in order to apply NLP in selling we find there are two chunks to the process:

The task: to ensure that the client/customer recognises the value for them in your product or service or idea - and buys. Most sales training courses and books on selling cater for this side of selling.

The relationship: this is either ignored or given minimal attention by most books, gurus and training courses - which partly explains how tough a field selling has become. Salespeople are inadequately equipped to deal with an increasingly sophisticated, better informed and more demanding client/customer base.

Sales people have therefore begun looking for ways of becoming more skilful at being 'client/customer friendly'! Instead of simply becoming friendlier with their clients or customers.

Yet so many sales people hate selling. They actually fear their clients/client/customers. Because they see it as a numbers' game instead of a people business.

When we model good sales people we have generally found a number of consistencies, one of them is that find they actually like people. People quickly pick this up and, when you display demonstrate your product or service in the right way for your client they become clients or customers effortlessly.

What is a Business Coach?
