Due to current legisation, it is now a legal requirement to manage asbestos in non-domestic properties. The best way to start your management of Asbestos is to have a qualified company carry out an Asbestos Survey, laying out the foundations for risk assessment and a management plan.

If you have already had your property surveyed, then that is the beginning of your Asbestos management. However if you require a survey WMI are here to carry it out.

There are three types of survey, along with you, we will assess the best option for your needs, be it is a specific type of survey or a combination of types. After completeing the survey we will provide you with a comprehensive, easy to understand report of the findings.

Asbestos Surveys fall into three catogeries:

Type 1 (Presumptive) - This is commonly known as a walk through survey, this type of survey provides the basic information to assess the needs for a further, more intrusive survey.

Type 2 (Sampling) - During a type 2 survey, discreet samples are taken from all suspected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) to prove or refute the presence of asbestos.

Type 3 (Intrusive) - This survey is more commonly known as a pre-demolition/refurbishment survey. The survey is carried out before any demolition/refurbishment works take place. During the survey, all areas are accessed, including floor voids, above ceilings, risers, etc. This does mean that the property may be subject to some limited damage during the survey.
