The Movie Bar Revolution
Only Video Ltd was founded August 1985 with the opening of my Olney store (which is still trading) at the height of the video rental business I had five outlets renting and selling video films. With the strength of DVD the pirates have the easiest tool available to them to copy movies. They are winning the battle against copyright theft. So I had to come up with another idea why people would come and hire movies from me, or go under.
I had the idea for The Movie Bar many years ago. Space was the problem in storing tapes. As DVD grew stronger the time was right to let VHS go and give me the space I needed to refit my Furzton store into The Movie Bar as many have come to know and love it as it is today.
The Movie Bar was opened 1st March 2004.
What goes on at The Movie Bar
We enjoy quiz nights, card nights (no gambling) and fun nights. Every night at The Movie Bar is a great night. We are a wireless hot spot so you can bring your laptop along and surf the Web (Coffee and Tea Also served).
Being a keen shooter - I run regular clay pigeon shoots that regulars come along to and enjoy the afternoon back at the bar. The Movie Bar Clay Pigeon trophy challenge being held four times a year.
If you have not visited us yet call in and enjoy a drink in a friendly atmosphere with nice people. I don’t play football on screens or have gaming machines.
If you live a long a distance from us and don’t wont to hire a film! We have a good selection of catalogue films and many ex-rentals to buy from just £2.50.
