The Black Horse is a lovely Georgian property right in the heart of Woburn village. When we took over a couple of years ago, we gave it a full makeover, without losing the character of the building. Now it’s a great place to meet, drink and eat - and there’s a stunning garden to the rear.
You can count on fabulous fresh food, great wine by the glass, real ales and a friendly welcome. We’re open from 11am, with lunch served from noon. It’s said we serve the best steak and chips in the county and there are plenty of other dishes to choose from, including a traditional afternoon tea.
We pride ourselves on sourcing the best ingredients we can from the highest quality suppliers we can find. All our chicken and eggs are free-range and our steak is fully traceable and accredited by the Scotch Beef Club. Our Chefs are trained to use seasonal ingredients. All of our dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to order. Food is available all day and the menu is so flexible that it can be a bar snack or three course meal, a business lunch or a celebration. If there is a dish you would like to suggest please contact us using our contact page.
Our A La Carte is served noon – 2.30pm and 6.30pm – 10pm Monday – Saturday & noon – 3pm & 6.30 – 9.30pm on Sunday.
The All Day menu is served noon – 6.30pm daily
The Garden Menu is available throughout the day
Beer - We currently have Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale on hand-pump, alongside Staropramen and Hoegaarden, draught Guinness and Carling.
Wine - Our list is quite short but very carefully chosen to pack in as much quality, variety and value as possible. For Summer we are drinking our favourite Rose Chateau Galoupet from Provence but if you prefer a lighter glass then try the Italian Pinot Grigio Rossato. Don't worry we have plenty of great options if you don't like it pink.
