Spectacular exhibits and special effects vividly recreate the voyages of the Royal Research Ship Discovery, built in Dundee to take Captain Scott to Antarctica.
Climb aboard and discover a world of Antarctic adventure. Discovery was one of the last wooden three-masted ships built in Britain and the first to be constructed specifically for scientific research.
Her launch in 1901 was the beginning of an adventure that would forever secure her a place in the heroic age of polar exploration.
After her arrival in Antarctica, Discovery was quickly frozen into the ice, where she remained for two long winters.
A spectacular 13 minute film show recreates life for her crew, scientists and brave Antarctic explorers. Exciting special effects will add to your experience as Discovery is blasted free of the crushing pack ice in a dramatic rescue.

From April to October, Discovery Point is open from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm on Sundays.
From November to March, Discovery Point is open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm on Sundays.
