Fulford Road Conservation Area

Residents in the Fulford Road area of York are being asked to have their say on how the unique character of the area can be maintained.

City of York Council is inviting people to give their views on a draft Conservation Area Appraisal for the area.  The document looks at what makes the area special as well as how it can be preserved for the future.

Once agreed, the appraisal will be used by the council to assess the impact of potential future development in the Fulford Road Conservation Area, to make sure that they are sympathetic to the character and setting of the Conservation Area.

Full colour copies of the report, including extensive photographs and maps, can be viewed from 19 October to 30 November at:

  • City of York Council Office Reception at 9 St Leonard's Place
  • Fulford Library
  • Field's Fayre sandwich shop, Fulford Road
  • The Fulford Arms, Fulford Road
  • or online at www.york.gov.uk

The consultation will run for six weeks and the results, together with any further revisions to the appraisal, will then be reported to the council's Planning Committee.

Anyone wanting further details about the appraisal should call 01904 551694.
