Welcome to Melrose Yard Studios,

Melrose Yard Studios in York is a purpose built music rehearsal and recording studio complex based in York City centre.

The Studios have been completely refurbished and acoustically treated and there is a brand new recording studio, complete with live room.

We also offer CD & DVD duplication and printing services. Musical instrument lessons are also available onsite from Engine Room Tuition.

Rehearsal

Melrose Yard Studios in York offers three purpose built, acoustically treated practice rooms each complete with a P.A system and microphones.

Additional equipment including drum kit's, guitar and bass amps are also available to hire.

Practice sessions are available seven days a week between 10am & 10pm.

Recording

Melrose Yard Studios in York has a brand new recording studio featuring a dedicated live room and the ability to record in the rehearsal rooms too.

The control room is based around a top spec Apple iMac computer running Logic 8, paired with two Echo Audiofire audio interfaces (24bit 192khz). These are fed by a 32 channel analogue Soundcraft mixing desk.

The studio is capable of recording up to 24 tracks simultaneously and many more overdubs.  Melrose Yard Studios in York also own an impressive selection of microphones from manufactures including: Shure, Audio-technica, AKG, Samson, Sennheiser & Rode.

Experience Days/Parties

Suitable for a wide range of events/parties from children's birthday parties to stag and hen parties.

The experiences last three hours, enough time to record 3 of your favourite songs.

We provide the backing tracks and you provide the vocals!

Each person takes away a professionally mixed, mastered and printed CD to remember the occasion.

The session also includes a vocal coach for that totally professional recording experience.

Drum Lessons

• Melrose Yard Studios in York is also home to ‘Engine Room Tuition' a purpose built drum teaching facility.

Guitar Lessons

• Iain Bolton is the resident guitar tutor at Melrose Yard Studios in York, teaching both electric and acoustic guitar.

Vocal Coaching

• Ann Hudson is the resident vocal tutor at Melrose Yard Studios in York, providing contemporary music tuition for all ages and levels. Specialising in rock and pop tuition with stage performance tips to take you from good to brilliant. Ann can also provide classical vocal tuition.

CD/DVD Duplication & Printing

Melrose Yard Studios in York specialise in short run duplication jobs of up to 1000 units. We can offer a number of different printing and packaging options.

Locked Storage

We have six purpose built lockable storage units for customers to store equipment at the studios.

Two of the units are very large (height: 2m x width 70cm x depth 1m) and the other four units are approximately half the size.
