We have two design studios on both the ground and first floors.

In the main show- room we work on putting together wonderful schemes often when clients visit us, wanting advice and help with pieces for their home, to single rooms where a piece of furniture can inspire them.

The main design studio is located on the first floor where we work with the latest technology which allows us to produce superb presentation packages, together with photorealistic visuals. We love to show people what we are working on, from the ideas stage, through the design process, the projects under construction to the finished home.

We have libraries of portfolios to show just what we have achieved. We can also give slideshows and dvd presentations on our plasma television, over a coffee, and clients never fail to be impressed with our case studies of projects which have been produced in beautiful water colour sketches

We work extensively on architectural solutions for extensions, orangeries and remodelling projects and work closely with planning departments to quickly establish what can be achieved before embarking on the architectural work. We have experience of Listed Buildings and work closely with Conservation to achieve the appropriate specification of works.

Having worked tirelessly on the project, which we conclude with 3D visuals of just how the space will work to give confidence before committing to the project, we then love the finishes and create wonderful mood boards of our ideas, which complements the extensive design packages which we produce, together with full working drawings from kitchen design, bathroom design to every room of the house.

Our truly exquisite Showrooms are located in an elegant three-storey Victorian townhouse in the centre of York, overlooking the city's beautiful Roman walls and is inspirational to clients looking for special pieces for their homes, to rooms settings which give a perfect feel of what can be achieved. We spend time with clients going over portfolios of our past work, of how we start off projects, all the way through the design process, the build itself and the finished project and our client testimonials. The collections are many and varied from classical contemporary to cutting edge designs.

The ground floor showcases fantastic collections sourced from around the globe with both unique and sought-after leading collections of furniture, lighting, accessories, artwork and antique 'objects', to the sumptuous hand-picked fabric library of international offerings.

The showroom is fabulous and finds clients travelling from far and wide to meet with David, Gaynor and their team of 7 designers, seeking their help in finding seamless solutions to create their dream home.

We do not impose our own tastes and ideas on clients, unless asked to do so, we aim to follow your brief closely, reflecting your aspirations and ideas imaginatively, maximising your investment. Clients come to David Long Designs for that very special 'look', our signature, but as can be seen from our Portfolio we have created some stunning 'cutting edge' designed homes.

What we bring to the table is a wealth of knowledge and expertise, finding fantastic solutions and even making problem areas exciting within remodelling projects.

If you have already engaged an architect or team of specialists and building contractors we can work in collaboration with them, or provide a full package allowing a fully-integrated solution.

HOW WE DO IT:

Every Project is unique. We meet with you to discuss in detail your ideas and aspirations for your project. We need to get to know you, how you live, your needs and lifestyle, to have rapport to allow us to work together to bring out the very best of the building for you, with interior finishes to create your perfect home. It is essential for you to plan how much you want to spend on the project to allow us to assess if the budget you have in mind fits the ambitions you have for your home.

Following our Project Review Meeting, we can then establish what you would like us to be engaged with and then submit our Fee Proposal for your approval.
