Learning hub opens in Littlehampton
Littlehampton Learning Shop has officially opened, and is offering residents a great range of courses.
The shop was opened on Friday September 18 by West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults' Services Peter Catchpole and the Head of the West Sussex Adult and Community Learning Service Ros Parker.
Guests were shown around the shop and joined in various drop-in sessions such as literacy and numeracy testing, healthy eating, eBay and digital photography, and languages.
Peter said: "The learning shop will be offering residents a full range of courses including ICT and languages, along with employability skills and core work skills such as English and maths.
"The shop closed in November 2007, with one of the main reasons being the premises didn't comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
"Building work has taken place and the shop is now fully disability compliant. We look forward to welcoming residents back to our revamped shop."
Courses planned to take place at the learning shop over the coming months also include family history, manage your money, French, Italian, Spanish, and Royal Yachting Association courses.
The number of courses available will increase over the coming months.
