If music be the food of love...

AS we move further into the summer everyone is welcome to come along to Parish Gardens, Stockton, to enjoy lunchtime concerts by Tees Valley Music Service over the coming months.

Visitors can come and relax in deckchairs as the Wind Band and Concert Band, both numbering around 30 musicians in each, offer these free performances.  

Dates confirmed, so far, for the bands are Thursday 8, 15, 22 July and Wednesday 9 and 16 September.  Stockton Voices, the junior choir will also be performing with further dates to be confirmed for August.

All concerts take place between 11.45 though to 1.15pm.

Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "This is a wonderful idea to bring music to the town and Parish Gardens is the perfect setting for such events.

"We hope people will come along to enjoy live performances by very talented musicians and singers."
