A blooming great tea party

Start date: 10th July 2009 until 11th July 2009

A BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY

HEAD along to Fairfield Branch Library, Stockton on Friday, July 10 to
join their 'Blooming Great Tea Party' and raise money for Marie Curie
Cancer Care.

Visitors to the Library can enjoy a cuppa and piece of cake and watch
Mandy Hobson from local florists, Petals of Norton, demonstrate how to
make pretty buttonholes. The tea party will take place from 2.30-4.30pm.

Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Borough Council's Cabinet Member for
Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "Fairfield Library's Blooming Great Tea
Party is all about getting together with friends old and new for a chat
and a cuppa. The more money raised, the more free care Marie Curie
nurses can provide to people with a terminal illness. What better reason
to come along and get involved?"

The 'Blooming Great Tea Party' is part of a national campaign to raise
money to provide free care for terminally ill people in their own homes
or at one of Marie Curie's hospices. Last year, thousands of tea parties
were held across the UK, providing over 14,000 hours of nursing care.
