Police are appealing for information after the body of a man was found in Portsmouth.
Richard Anthony Staight, 21, from Bristol who was a student at Portsmouth University was found in the water below the Hot Walls in Old Portsmouth at around 8am on the morning of Friday, February 5.
A post mortem examination took place on Friday, February 5 which established that he died as a result of drowning.
Richard was last seen at around 12.15am on Friday, February 5 leaving Tiger Tiger in Gunwharf Quays. He was wearing a yellow and black horizontal stripped short sleeved shirt, which is described as being like a rugby top.
Detective Inspector John Ashworth, said: "We are trying to establish Richard's last movements. We know he left Tiger Tiger at Gunwharf Quays at 12.15am on Friday morning and was then found in the water at 8am. We want to speak to anyone who saw a man matching this description in the Gunwharf, Old Portsmouth or Southsea areas between 12.15am and 8am on Friday.
"As with all unexpected deaths we need to investigate the circumstances leading up the death. We are keen to establish Richard's last movements and how he came to be in the water."
