Get-Cycling at Aldershot Army Show near Southampton
Get a taste for cycling at the Get-Cycling Roadshow, one of the guest attractions at the Aldershot Army Show on 4 & 5 July.
An array of bikes will be available for people of all ages to get on and pedal, including tandems, bikes and city bikes together with child seats and trailers for bikes. There is also fun to be had with KMX karts and pedal powered Scalextric. There is no charge and visitors to the roadshow will be able to find out all they need to know about cycling, cycle routes in Hampshire and cycle maintenance.
The Get-Cycling roadshow will be located in Rushmoor Community Partnership Zone and has been organised by Hampshire County Council's School Travel Planning Team. The roadshow is part of the Team's activity to encourage people out of the car in their pilot scheme ‘It does not have to be the car'. Working with local schools, parents and pupils are being encouraged to walk or cycle for health and environmental benefits and also to reduce school gate congestion and improve safety.
