You are invited to do something amazing at Race For Life 2009.


Cancer Research UK's Race For Life 2009 needs women everywhere and their friends, family and colleagues to take part and raise money to help us continue our life-saving work.


Race For Life is the UK's largest women only fundraising events, where women come together to raise money to help Cancer Research UK beat cancer.
Whether you walk, jog or run 5k you can go at your own pace and enjoy a great day out.


There are over 230 Race for Life events taking place all over the UK this summer and the Southampton event takes place on Sunday 12 July.
So please join us and enter Race For Life 2009 and invite every woman you know to take part too.


Who can enter?
The race is open to women of all ages and involves walking, jogging or running around a five kilometre course on Southampton Common.

Venue and Start time
The event will take place on Southampton Common and will start at 11 am.
It is advisable to arrive at least one hour earlier to enable you to participate in the warm ups.


Parking
Please note that there will be no parking on Southampton Common. Please use city centre car parks and allow extra time to walk to the event.
To prevent congestion we strongly recommend that you use public transport or car share to get to the venue.

Cancer Research UK
Cancer research UK funds a range of research projects in Southampton, many of which are carried out with the charity's Medical Oncology Unit at Southampton General Hospital.
The unit is world-renowned for its research into ways to harness the power of the immune system to help treat people with cancer.
Anyone participating in the Southampton event all be part of a total of 750,000 women from across the UK, taking part at more than 230 events.

Now is the time to get into shape before Race For Life and the Southampton Running Sisters can help.

They are organising a beginners running course for anyone over 18yrs which starts on the 20 April - 8 June running mainly on Southampton Common and suitable for all ages and abilities. Alternatively if you already run but would like to work on your fitness in a friendly atmosphere why not join their weekly meet ups on Wednesday nights.
