Appeal following attempted robbery in Portsmouth
Police are appealing for information about an attempted robbery just off Fratton Road, Portsmouth.
At around 1am, Sunday, July 18, an 18-year-old man was walking home to Fratton after a night out on Guildhall Walk.
As he turned onto Stamford Street, he was approached by four unknown men. One of them threatened him with a knife and demanded money.
There was a brief skirmish which ended with the four men running off empty handed towards the housing estates that backs onto the road.
The victim ran to a nearby takeaway where he alerted police before running home shaken but uninjured.
The offenders were all wearing hooded tops. They are described as:
white man, 20-years-old, 6ft tall, slim build, dark baseball cap, navy tracksuit bottoms, white trainers

DC Katie Wakefield from Portsmouth CID said: "The victim in this case put up a fight and saw off the offenders even though he saw one carrying a knife.
"Luckily he wasn't hurt and the offenders got nothing from him.
"I'd ask if anyone saw or heard what happened, or recognises or knows who the offenders are, to get in touch as soon as possible."
