Beautiful travertine tiles
"Filgate Tiling supplied and laid travertine (natural stone) tiles throughout our ground floor. Phil Filgate was fascinating to watch as he lined up all the angles so the tiles flowed from room to room. The result is fabulous...and wipe clean! I have recommended Filgate Tiling to many people...for their homes and offices. Phil offers sensible advice, sensible prices and great results."

Plastering and Terylene - great job
"I am developing a property and have used D.P. Plastering (Darren) to provide plastering and Terylene services. Almost the entire house has been re-plastered including all the ceilings. One ceiling also required over-boarding prior to plastering. There were several garden walls that required some structural repairs due to their neglect over the years and once these repairs had been completed Darren applied a Terylene render that gave an even finish that could then be painted and has improved the outside of the property considerably.
The standard of work has been excellent and Darren has been able to work the job to fit in with my timescales. There are very few trades that I have employed that have not had some snags that needed to be addressed at the end of the job and with the scale of the plastering job at this house this was no exception. On reviewing the snagging list Darren promptly set to putting all matters right and I signed the job off at the next run through.
There were also some extra plastering works (e.g. finishing around a fireplace that was removed) that I threw in as other work progressed on the house and I was able to include these into the existing works at a reasonable cost and in line with overall timescales.
Darren has been a pleasure to have involved with this project – so thanks Darren – and don’t get too busy as I will need you again soon no doubt!

Good cleaning work and value for money
"We've used cleaners in the past at our old house so knew what to expect from house cleaners. As we have recently moved we wanted someone to come give the new home a once over and the occasional clean. I had noticed cobwebs in a few places so got in contact to arrange our cleaning. Have to say one of the best cleaners we have used. Very nice people who listened to what we wanted and did a very good job. We now have them come round every couple of weeks and they've so far done a great job each time. "

Cleaning up my wood-burning stove
""I ran into David at a networking event and he talked about the need to service chimneys on a regular basis.I had a wood-burning stove installed in my house in Liss, Hants, three years ago and did not think it needed to be swept. David convinced me wood-burning stoves used for ambience should be swept once a year. He came to my house and showed me layers of black stuff up the chimney that should be removed. David got the job done in less than an hour and charged me only £38. I could have paid more for such expert work. I expect to see him every September from now on.
