Join the fight against litterbugs!

Local residents can join Clean Cornwall’s campaign against litterbugs during an event at the Eden Project on Friday 17 February.

Members of Clean Cornwall want to hear from anyone interested in cleaning up their community, as well as from groups who can share their litter-tackling success stories.

The Clean Cornwall partnership, set up in 2006, involves a host of community and voluntary organisations, as well as Cornwall Council, Cornwall Waste Action, the Environment Agency and Visit Cornwall.

During the event, taking place between 10am and 1pm, those attending will be able to find out more about the work of Clean Cornwall and meet the group’s new Chairman Lady Mary Holborow.

“This is a wonderful way to find out how we help to keep Cornwall the cleanest place in the country,” said Lady Mary. “I am really looking forward to this opportunity.”

Councillor Julian German, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for waste management, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity to meet likeminded people and exchange ideas. The environment is the face of Cornwall and it is important that we all play our role in keeping it clean and tidy.”
