Key events for Northampton's Heritage Open Days weekend 2010 are now available to view online at Northampton Borough Council's website.
Once again local people and visitors will be able to enjoy free access to architectural gems that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.
As well as visitor attractions, there will be heritage bus trails, river trips, tours and other family-friendly activities that help bring local history alive.
Heritage Open Days, which this year runs from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 September, was established in 1994 as England's contribution to European Heritage Days, in which 49 countries now participate.
Although people are encouraged to download the Northampton programme of events, printed copies will be available to pick up at various tourist locations around the region including the Tourist Information Centre and Northampton Museum and Art Gallery from the end of this month.
Councillor Paul Varnsverry, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for culture, said: "Heritage Open Days weekend is a fantastic, free of charge opportunity for people to explore some of Northampton's most significant buildings and churches.
"It is organised by the council and local volunteers who are dedicated to opening properties and staging activities that really help the public connect with our town's rich heritage."
