Creative Learning Events are enterprise education experts who deliver enterprise challenge days and business awareness days in both primary and secondary schools.  All our enterprise events are delivered to schools across Yorkshire, Humberside, North East and North West.

If you are looking for an exciting and inspiring Enterprise Challenge Day for your students, please get in touch.  We also offer work related learning and employability skills days.

Teachers often lack the time, and sometimes the expertise, to plan and organise their own enterprise challenge days.  We can help you and save your valuable time and help you meet your goals.  Our affordable enterprise events are organised and run by experienced entrepreneurs who will run a day for you in school that will motivate and engage all your students. We will design, deliver and evaluate an event for you with the minimum impact on your time and help you meet and exceed Ofsted guidelines.

Our events are original, topical and have been tried and tested in many schools. Students work in small teams on practical exercises, designed to get everyone involved. Each young person will have a chance to showcase their individual talents whilst working towards team goals. The students will feel excited, inspired and challenged as they compete for team prizes. Each exercise reflects what happens in the real business world.

The E Factor Enterprise Challenge Day

This is our most popular event with both students and teachers. An interactive, fun, practical enterprise challenge based in the Music Industry.  The E Factor Programme enthuses and motivates students whilst developing the key skills required in the business world. The programme follows the key functions that are crucial in any business: Planning, Recruitment, Marketing, Sales Presentations, Budgeting, Production and Hard work = Profits! This day is fast paced and competitive just like the real business world.

Students, working in small teams, plan and recruit a new band which they then have to market and secure investment for from the Judges. They will compete with other teams to see who can give the best sales presentation using all their skills and talents.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Increased enterprise understanding and capability
  • Raised awareness of different departments and functions within a business
  • Each students will have developed enterprise skills of negotiating, decision making, planning, organising, communication, teamwork and meeting deadlines
  • Individual skills identified through participative exercises based on the key enterprise elements of planning, recruitment, marketing, sales, production & profit making
  • Each team will have prepared and delivered a presentation to an audience to try and win financial investment
  • Enhanced financial understanding as teams budget, manage a business loan, buy resources, pay wages, produce accounts and make their business profitable
  • Students may work in teams with a local business representative who guide and advise students

An Overview of The E Factor Enterprise Challenge

Exercise 1 - Planning. You have identified a gap in the market for a new band. You must produce a business plan.

Exercise 2 - Recruitment. You must act as a business and put together key criteria for recruiting the band. You will then audition the 20 finalists and select your band.

Exercise 3 - Marketing. You must produce the marketing materials for your band to ensure they get maximum publicity and you also need a range of promotional items to sell at the first concert and make a bit of cash.

Exercise 4 - Sales Promotion. Two big investors are in town (Simon Scowell and Gooey Walsh). You will have a few minutes of their time to present your ideas and convince them to invest in your band. Use all you team to impress the judges that your band will succeed in a competitive market!

Exercise 5 - Profits. A major problem occurs and you need to save your business from bankruptcy. Can you make enough money to ensure the concert goes ahead?  At the end of the day students reflect on and evaluate what they have learnt and achieved.

We will produce an Evaluation Report for you which you can use for any inspection.

"A professional, well-organised Enterprise activity day that inspired the pupils to compete, take responsibility, take risks, practice their communication and team work skills and work together with adults. Pupils were engaged throughout the challenges; they were given a chance to shine and we unearthed some star pupil performances. The two activity days were tailored to meet the needs of our pupils and met all our Enterprise requirements. Thank you very much!"

Employer Engagement

There is an opportunity to invite local business people to act as Team Advisers and take part in The E Factor Enterprise Challenge. They can share their experiences of the world of work, help the students with the exercises and answer any questions about business that arise. This is a key link that schools can build on. We can contact businesses on your behalf thus saving you a great deal of time and money.

Please read our School Feedback page and see what other teachers and students think about us. Then have a quick look at The Gallery which shows some pictures of the days in action in a variety of schools. A typical enterprise challenge event has been filmed so click on the "See An Event In Action" and watch clips from an enterprise day when you have 5 minutes to spare.
