Purbrook Veterinary Practice
As an independent practice, Purbrook Vets was established on the principle: "it would be somewhere we'd be happy to take our own pets" ...with caring staff, clean air-conditioned premises and a common sense approach to veterinary care.
There are a number of methods of treating animal ailments and, dependent upon the circumstances, some are more appropriate than others. Purbrook Vets endeavour to offer a range of treatment options to enable owners to make informed decisions. We all love our pets and this approach means that we can be sure we are doing the right things for them.
Purbrook Vets prefer you to make appointments but recognise that sometimes that just isn't possible, so they remain flexible outside the following core appointment times:
Monday to Friday:
8.30am - 10.30am
4.00pm - 6.00pm
Saturday:
8.30am - 11.00am

All consultations and routine operations are carried out on-site. Purbook Vets also provide its own after hours care, so you will see the same vet day and night. Home visits are available too if it is an emergency or impractical to get your pet to the surgery.
Purbrook Vets has many years of experience in veterinary care in all areas of the discipline but, if appropriate, Purbrook Vets has a network of experts in particular fields to call upon to ensure your pet has the best care possible.

- If your pet needs a worming tablet, Purbrook Vets charge only for the tablet and not for the consultation fee to help you keep them safe.
- Call in for a free dental check for your pets.
- Bring your new puppy or kitten to Purbrook Vets for a free health check.
Top Tips from Purbrook Vets:
- Purbrook Vets recommend Advocate for your dogs because it deals with fleas, fox mange and lung worm too.
- Kennel Cough is becoming a regular problem in the area too. The vaccination for this is just £22.96 and once a year should be sufficient to keep your dog free from Kennel Cough.
- Myxomatosis is in the area - keep your rabbits safe by vaccinating them every six months. Make sure your vet uses a part-introdermal technique (into the skin itself) to ensure maximum protection.
- For cats, Purbrook Vets recommend Pentofel to protect against many potential problems including Chlamydia which causes 30% of clinical conjunctivitis.

"Having had a few pets over the years, I was delighted to take my dog to Purbrook Veterinary Practice recently. The welcome, reception and the way they treated us was an absolute delight. They listened and then in my opinion gave a truly professional treatment to my dog. "I rescued my cat in 2007 when she was unwanted by her owner after she entered a coma after a dental by a Gosport vet. I brought her round from blindness to complete health. In 2010 her teeth became painful. I took her back to the Gosport vet who suggested she should be put down as her teeth are unfixable. So, upon recommendation, I took my cat to Geoff. Geoff explained that we were not seeing her teeth, but seeing the plaque on the teeth. He removed the plaque and put her on a course of antibiotics. My cat is now fit and extremely happy as she was before. Geoff is a vet who knows what he is talking about. DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER VET. ***GO TO SEE GEOFF NOW**** If I hadn't seen Geoff, my cat would be dead. Geoff saved my cats life. "Very Happy Owner
"I moved to the area about 2 years ago, I started going here as it was so close. But I have stayed here due to the care and honest advice I get from Geoff.I had a horrible shock last summer when my little chihuahua was breathing strange and had lumps appear all over his head. It was about 9 in the morning so I grabbed my dog and ran up the vets. They fitted me in straight away, even though there were others waiting and saved my little boy. He was stung by something and had a bad reaction.
I will always go here from now on and Highly Recommend Geoff to everyone.
