"Duncan Lewis has registered with Citylocal for another year as the service we received from Citylocal was good and their directory"
"Had a great night out at Peaches Bar and Restaurant recently. The menu catered for all my friends tastes and the food was delicio"
Harrow Council bin crews will be attempting their normal scheduled routes on Thursday and Friday. While crews have gone out every day this week, collections have been disrupted due to the conditions of some side roads. There will be an important difference to collections - starting next Monday -which is designed to clear the backlog within five days. From Monday 18 January residents should put all three bins by the kerbside (brown bins for organic waste, green/grey for residual waste and blue for dry recycling). In addition side waste will be collected. Please ensure it is in sealed bags. Cllr Susan Hall, portfolio holder for the environment, said: "We know it has been frustrating for householders and we'd like to thank them for their patience. It's been equally frustrating for the bin crews who want to get out and help residents, but pack ice on roads has just made some of them impossible to access. "However, we're confident that, subject to the weather, we will have cleared the backlog and we will be back to normal by Monday January 25".
Gritting
After fresh snow fell on Tuesday night and Wednesday, the council has increased its levels of gritting to keep the borough moving. Council gritters completed three gritting runs last night, spreading 50 tonnes of grit over Harrow's roads. Snow was expected to ease later on Wednesday with further gritting levels to be determined by weather conditions.
Schools
55 schools are open, with ten likely to close early. Special Needs Transport
Due to the adverse weather conditions, there was no special needs transport on Wednesday and further disruption is likely on Thursday.
