Khan prepares for Daybreak debut

Khan prepares for Daybreak debut

Hendon TV star Tasmin Khan is preparing to play her part in one of the biggest TV events of the year.

The 30-year-old will be presenting the news on ITV's new breakfast programme Daybreak, which replaces GMTV on Monday.

New publicity shots were released on Thursday showing Tasmin alongside main presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley.

Speaking about her new role, Tasmin said she was "thrilled" to be part of the programme's launch team.

"For me the most exciting thing about the job is working as a serious news presenter with a proven and innovative team of broadcasters headed up, of course, by Adrian, Christine and Lorraine."

Tasmin grew up in Hendon before going on to read the news on Zee TV, PTV, Channel Five and the BBC.

Her last role involved presenting nightly bulletins on BBC Three, meaning a big change in her working hours when Daybreak begins.

She added: "The biggest challenge, of course, will be the early starts which will take a bit of getting used to both socially and professionally!

"But even the prospect of the 3.30am alarm didn't give me a moment of doubt that this was the right move after three fabulous years at the BBC. Now I can't wait to get started."

Daybreak begins on Monday 6 September on ITV1 at 6am.
