Harrow Snow Disruption Update - Thursday

All but two of Harrow's 66 schools are closed today (Thursday) and all Special Needs Transports are cancelled.

Check this constantly updating map to see if your school is open or closed

All 130 Special Needs Transport routes operated by Harrow Council were cancelled on Wednesday and none are expected to run today. If day centre users are able to obtain their own transport, they are still being advised to contact their usual day centre to see if it is open. Meals on wheels services are operating normally.

Council gritting crews will also be out again to keep main roads clear. The Council has been using its salt stocks prudently since the cold snap began. Harrow currently has reserves of around 500 tonnes of salt. The Council is spreading salt at a lighter rate to conserve supplies while keeping main routes clear, so has enough stock to last for a number of days.

The authority has a set number of main roads covered by its principal gritting runs. Please see the gritting pages if your road is covered.

Bin crews will again attempt to reach main routes on Thursday after assessing the extent of overnight snow and ice. There will inevitably be disruptions to services but ouseholders are advised to keep their bins out for collection.

Some libraries will close earlier and Harrow Museum remains shut.

The planned FCO Event has now been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.
