Neighbourhood Working sees every ward in Brent given an annual budget of £20,000 to spend on tackling local issues. All projects are prioritised by ward councillors to tackle matters raised by local residents. The money has to be used for extras, not for projects or services that the council already has an obligation to provide.
Through Neighbourhood Working ward councillors meet local residents to discover how they want their neighbourhoods to be enhanced. In response, the team works with partners like the police and other departments to develop new initiatives and improve existing services.
London Tigers is an award winning community led sports and youth organisation working across London. They provide sporting and lifetime learning opportunities for hard to reach disadvantaged communities with a wide range of programmes to create a tolerant and cohesive multi cultural society.
