One hundred and twenty pupils from six East Renfrewshire secondary schools met recently at Williamwood High to take part in a Carnegie Medal for Literature event organised by school librarians.

All 120 children have been involved in reading groups in their schools, reading the shortlisted titles and posting book reviews online at the Carnegie Medal web site.

At Williamwood the youngsters took part in role playing exercises, and worked together in teams, with help from a librarian or teacher, to come up with answers to questions relating to the books.
